University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun has launched three new undergraduate programmes commencing from academic year 2017. The three UG programmes are B.A Economics with specialisation in Energy Economics, BBA Accounting and Information Systems and BCA with integrated training to earn industry certifications from Microsoft/SAP/Oracle/Cisco.
Students from any stream willing to apply for B.A Economics must have 50 percent marks in class 10th and 12th. The minimum eligibility for BBA Accounting and Information System course is also 50 percent marks in 10th & 12th. For BCA, a minimum of 50 per cent marks in class 10th and 12th with Mathematics / Computer Science / Information Technology as one of the main Subject in Class 12th is mandatory.
According to the institute, all the three programmes are unique of its kind. The UPES’ B.A Economics with specialisation in Energy Economics program has a one-on-a-kind curriculum designed to boost the student’s career in the energy industry. The programme offers practical training for energy markets analysts working in government, the private sector, industry bodies and international organisations. The programme on BBA Accounting and Information Systems prepares students to use technology to create a competitive advantage and accounting understanding for the organisations. BCA programme with integrated training to earn industry certifications from Microsoft/SAP/Oracle/Cisco is an updated, industry-relevant program for students aspiring for a non-Engineering IT career.
